SESSION 1: MIGRATION: THE IMPACT ON COUNTRIES OF ORIGIN AND RECEIVING COUNTRIES |
Migration is a phenomenon that attracts a lot of attention from the media, politicians, and the general public. We review the literature to distinguish myths from reality and see what we really know about how migration affects the labor markets, budgets, income inequality, and other aspects in both receiving and origin countries. We also look at the policies that countries can adopt to increase benefits and minimize the costs of migration.
