Location: AA03 Volubilis

OVERVIEW

The 2023 Per Jacobsson Lecture will bring together policy makers and experts from Africa and the Middle East to discuss key issues and challenges facing the region, with a focus on “Building Economic Resilience in Uncertain Times: Challenges for Emerging Markets and the Region”. Economies in the region have been affected by multiple challenges including rapid inflation, food insecurity, costly borrowing, and mounting debt. Reforms and new policies are needed  to build sustainable macroeconomic stability and growth, yet many countries have very limited policy space. This seminar will discuss how countries can work towards economic resilience in an era of greater uncertainty and shocks.
