Attendance of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Spring Meetings is by invitation only.
All participants must be accredited in advance of the Meetings.
Obtaining a Visa for the Spring Meetings (Washington, DC)
All participants should ensure that their passport is valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry into the United States. Participants are encouraged to consult the U.S. Department of State website for the latest information on visas requirements and entry conditions. Additional information on visa and travel restrictions can be found on the Department of Homeland Security website.
U.S. travel and visa processing timelines may vary across countries. Participants requiring a visa to travel to the United States are encouraged to apply as early as possible through the appropriate consular channels.
Where visa assistance is needed, participants should use the Registration Confirmation Letter provided to participants who have successfully completed their registration via email, in support of their visa application.
Visa eligibility and issuance are determined solely by U.S. authorities. Neither the IMF nor the World Bank Group can influence the outcome or timing of visa applications.
Before You Travel
Carry critical documents with you at all times and keep copies in your mobile devices throughout your trip:
- A passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry into the United States

Registration Desk Hours and Badge Pick‑up
The registration desk will be open during the following hours for badge pick‑up and on‑site registration assistance.
Registration desk hours:
- Sunday, April 12, 2026: 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, April 13, 2026: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday–Friday, April 14–17, 2026: 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

All registered participants must show their registration confirmation email, and photo ID to registration staff in order to pick-up their Spring Meetings badge.
Spring Meetings badges must bear a current photograph of the registrant. Participants must be photographed and obtain their individual badge prior to entering Spring Meetings venues.
Badge Issuance
Badges will be issued from the World Bank I Building Registration Desk at 1850 I St, NW, Washington, DC, 20433, United States.
Badge pick‑up deadlines:
- Early badge pick‑up (delegates only, via their respective Office of Executive Director): Friday, April 10, 2026
- On‑site badge pick‑up (open to all participant categories): Badge pick‑up will be available during overall registration operations from Sunday, April 12, 2026 (12:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.) through Friday, April 17, 2026 (8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.).
Badge Access and Security:
All participants must present a valid Spring Meetings badge or IMF/WBG staff or retiree badge to enter through perimeter checkpoints. Badges must be visibly displayed at all times while inside the security perimeter. It is not advisable to wear identification badges in public outside the perimeter.
Spring Meetings badges will be valid from Monday, April 13, through Saturday, April 18, 2026, and will allow entry into IMF HQ1 and HQ2 and World Bank MC, J, I, and F Buildings.
For registered delegates only, Spring Meetings badges will remain valid through Friday, April 24, 2026.
From April 13 through April 18, all individuals, including Spring Meetings badge holders, will be subject to magnetometer and x-ray screening before entering IMF/WBG facilities. While screening lines typically move quickly, participants should allow additional time to ensure timely arrival for scheduled meetings.
Press badges grant access to the press room located at the IMF HQ2 building, press conferences, press briefings, and the Media Hub located in the World Bank MC front lobby. Members of the press must always be accompanied by staff within office areas. Press requiring building access after April 18 must comply with IMF/WBG visitor procedures.
Standards of Conduct
IMF: Participants are expected to comply with the IMF Code of Conduct for Visitors.
WBG: All participants of the Spring Meetings are expected to adhere to the World Bank Group’s Core Values and Code of Ethics, and are reminded to conduct themselves with integrity and impartiality, and to refrain from any behavior that would be inconsistent with the Code or our values. Any participant engaged in disruptive or other inappropriate behavior may have their badge revoked.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Spring Meetings participants should follow prevailing health and safety guidance. If you are feeling unwell for any reason, do not come to the Meetings’ venues.
Measles is a highly transmissible disease often spread during international travel and in large public gatherings. If you are unsure about your vaccination or immune status, seek advice from your healthcare provider and consider vaccination prior to traveling to reduce the risk of infection and transmission.
Medical services will be provided by the MedStar Health Clinic, located in the Bank MC Building, Level C2. In addition to normal weekday operations, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., the Health Clinic will be available, as needed, on Saturday, April 18 until 12:00 noon. Participants who have medicines requiring refrigeration may use the facilities in the Health Clinic for this purpose. For non-emergent medical needs, contact the on-site Medstar clinic at +1-202-842-1500 during office hours.

SECURITY
During the week of the 2026 Spring Meetings, there will be an increased police presence around IMF/World Bank Group (WBG) headquarters buildings. In the event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of security and law enforcement officials.

Access arrangements for the Spring Meetings
All Spring Meetings attendees entering HQ buildings will be subject to magnetometer and x-ray screening during week of the Spring Meetings. Individuals with Fund/Bank badges can bypass the magnetometer and x-ray screening.
Monday, April 13 - Wednesday, April 15
Access will be limited to those carrying a Spring Meetings or IMF/WBG badge. Spring Meetings badge holders entering the security perimeter will be subject to magnetometer/x-ray screening – please allow extra time for this process. The following are entry points for Spring Meetings participants:
- HQ1 19th Street entrance.
- HQ2 Visitor’s Center (Press Only entrance)
- HQ2 Pennsylvania Avenue entrance.
- WBG MC North entrance
- WBG MC East entrance
Thursday, April 16 - Saturday, April 18
A security perimeter will be in place around the IMF HQ1 & HQ2 buildings and WBG MC building from Wednesday, April 15 evening, through Saturday, April 18 afternoon.
Perimeter entry points for IMF/WBG badge and Spring Meetings badge holders will be set up at the IMF’s HQ2 Entrance (corner of 19th Street and Pennsylvania Ave), WBG MC Visitor Center Entrance (18th Street and Pennsylvania Ave) and the WBG MC Building South Entrance (G Street between 18th and 19th Street).
- Access will be limited to those carrying a Spring Meetings or IMF/WBG badge.
- Spring Meetings badge holders entering the security perimeter will be subject to magnetometer/x-ray screening – please allow extra time for this process.
- Visitor passes will not be issued for the IMF HQ1/HQ2, World Bank’s MC and J buildings.
- Delegation cars or other private vehicles will not be allowed to enter the security perimeter; only law enforcement vehicles or police-escorted motorcades will be allowed into the security perimeter. Delegation cars may drop off near perimeter entry points.

Monday, April 20
Access restrictions will revert to normal work week access procedures for IMF and World Bank personnel. Spring Meetings Delegate badge holders will be screened at HQ Visitor Centers. Regular visitors pass rules apply. Members of the press requiring building access after April 18 must comply with IMF/World Bank visitor procedures.
EMERGENCY GUIDELINES
In an emergency, the buildings may be evacuated, or you may be told to remain indoors until the situation has been resolved. In either instance, you will be notified by public address announcement or by security personnel.
If you are unable to evacuate, call the Emergency Response number listed below or seek assistance using one of the emergency phones located in every stairwell on each floor of both IMF and World Bank Group buildings.
In case of fire or smoke in the building:
In case of smoke or fire, do not wait for a public announcement - leave immediately via the established evacuation routes, following the security staff’s instructions. In an emergency at the IMF buildings call +1-202-623-9911 and at the World Bank Group buildings call +1-202-458-8888.
SECURITY TIPS
Visibly display your Spring Meetings badge at all times inside the venues. Keep your badge in a secure place when outside the security perimeter, but readily accessible in order to display upon request at security checkpoints. Immediately report the loss of your Spring Meetings badge to security. Do not leave laptops, mobile phones, or other personal items unattended.
Participants are advised to cooperate if approached by law enforcement authorities:
- Stay calm, follow directions, and comply with lawful instructions.
- Provide identification and answer questions as required.
- Do not argue, resist, or engage in any behavior that would escalate the situation.

Prior to traveling to the US, it is also advisable to look for and save the consular assistance hotlines of your respective embassies/consulates based in DC.

Business Center Conference Rooms will be available in the IMF HQ1 and HQ2 buildings, as well as the WBG MC and J buildings.
For the IMF: In the IMF, conference rooms with capacity of up to 24 participants can be reserved through the Book a Meeting page on IMF Connect, by phone at +1-202- 623-0678, or via email at ebc@imf.org. These conference rooms can be reserved in 30-minute windows for up to two hours. Delegations requiring conference space in the IMF buildings should contact Alena Martens by e-mail at EBC@imf.org.
For the WBG: Business Center Conference rooms are in the Bank’s MC and J buildings. These rooms are subject to availability and can be reserved in 30-minute windows of up to two hours. Reservations can be made through the Meeting Request Form.

For the IMF: The HQ1 Networking Lounge is unattended and will have self-printing and working stations with power outlets. The HQ2 Networking Lounge (co-located with the Business Center) will be staffed from Monday, April 13 through Saturday, April 18, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and will have self-printing and working stations with US plug outlets.
Delegates are now able to book an IMF touchdown workstation booth or station for up to 4 hours in HQ1 or HQ2 by submitting a request to the Business Center at ebc@imf.org.
For the WBG: The World Bank will have two business lounge locations (in the MC Atrium and J building lobby) for informal meetings and temporary workspace. The Lounges will be available from Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily. On Saturday, April 18, both lounges will only be available from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The MC Business Lounge will be equipped with four shared-use computers with local printers, a copier, and international power strips to charge devices. Staff will be available to assist delegates.

HOW TO REQUEST A PERSONALIZED DISABILITY ARRANGEMENT TO ATTEND IMF-SPONSORED EVENTS
By request, the IMF provides personalized arrangements to support a disability to attend IMF-sponsored events located in Washington, DC. To request accommodation please contact workplaceaccomm@imf.org. The team will respond to all emails within 48 hours of receipt.
If you are requesting a technical service, such as sign interpretation or personalized closed captioning, please provide a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice before the event so that we can determine the feasibility given technological capabilities and the venue where such meeting will take place. IMF reserves the right to decline accommodation due to the nature of the meeting (i.e. privacy and confidential issues being discussed).
CLOSED CAPTIONING
Closed captioning services will be available for select events in the IMF HQ1 Atrium, Meeting Halls A & B, and Cedar Hall to ensure an inclusive and accessible experience for all attendees. Closed captioning provides real-time text display of spoken words, making it easier for individuals who are hearing impaired to follow along. It also benefits non-native speakers and anyone who prefers reading along.
TRANSPORTATION
During the 2026 Spring Meetings, there will be no dedicated transportation service between the airports and the Meetings Campus or Hotels.
Participants are advised to arrange for their own transportation.
Parking will not be available in Fund/Bank buildings for delegations. Please make alternative arrangements at the public garages or street parking.
Participants can use alternative transportation options across the city, including Capital Bikeshare and ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft.

- Wednesday, January 28 – Delegations may begin booking rooms directly with hotels for the 2026 Spring Meetings.
- Wednesday, February 11 – Hotel room blocks open to all other Meetings participants.
- Wednesday, March 25 – Any unreserved rooms within the blocks will be released. Reservations made after this date will be subject to availability and potentially higher rates.

Measles is a highly transmissible disease often spread during international travel and in large public gatherings. If you are unsure about your vaccination or immune status, seek advice from your healthcare provider and consider vaccination prior to traveling to reduce the risk of infection and transmission.
Medical services will be provided by the MedStar Health Clinic, located in the Bank MC Building, Level C2. In addition to normal weekday operations, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., the Health Clinic will be available, as needed, on Saturday, April 18 until 12:00 noon. Participants who have medicines requiring refrigeration may use the facilities in the Health Clinic for this purpose. For non-emergent medical needs, contact the on-site Medstar clinic at +1-202-842-1500 during office hours.

SECURITY
During the week of the 2026 Spring Meetings, there will be an increased police presence around IMF/World Bank Group (WBG) headquarters buildings. In the event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of security and law enforcement officials.

Thursday, April 16 - Saturday, April 18
A security perimeter will be in place around the IMF HQ1 & HQ2 buildings and WBG MC building from Wednesday, April 15 evening, through Saturday, April 18 afternoon.
Perimeter entry points for IMF/WBG badge and Spring Meetings badge holders will be set up at the IMF’s HQ2 Entrance (corner of 19th Street and Pennsylvania Ave), WBG MC Visitor Center Entrance (18th Street and Pennsylvania Ave) and the WBG MC Building South Entrance (G Street between 18th and 19th Street).
- Access will be limited to those carrying a Spring Meetings or IMF/WBG badge.
- Spring Meetings badge holders entering the security perimeter will be subject to magnetometer/x-ray screening – please allow extra time for this process.
- Visitor passes will not be issued for the IMF HQ1/HQ2, World Bank’s MC and J buildings.
- Delegation cars or other private vehicles will not be allowed to enter the security perimeter; only law enforcement vehicles or police-escorted motorcades will be allowed into the security perimeter. Delegation cars may drop off near perimeter entry points.

Monday, April 20
Access restrictions will revert to normal work week access procedures for IMF and World Bank personnel. Spring Meetings Delegate badge holders will be screened at HQ Visitor Centers. Regular visitors pass rules apply. Members of the press requiring building access after April 18 must comply with IMF/World Bank visitor procedures.
EMERGENCY GUIDELINES
In an emergency, the buildings may be evacuated, or you may be told to remain indoors until the situation has been resolved. In either instance, you will be notified by public address announcement or by security personnel.
If you are unable to evacuate, call the Emergency Response number listed below or seek assistance using one of the emergency phones located in every stairwell on each floor of both IMF and World Bank Group buildings.
In case of fire or smoke in the building:
In case of smoke or fire, do not wait for a public announcement - leave immediately via the established evacuation routes, following the security staff’s instructions. In an emergency at the IMF buildings call +1-202-623-9911 and at the World Bank Group buildings call +1-202-458-8888.
SECURITY TIPS
Visibly display your Spring Meetings badge at all times inside the venues. Keep your badge in a secure place when outside the security perimeter, but readily accessible in order to display upon request at security checkpoints. Immediately report the loss of your Spring Meetings badge to security. Do not leave laptops, mobile phones, or other personal items unattended.
Participants are advised to cooperate if approached by law enforcement authorities:
- Stay calm, follow directions, and comply with lawful instructions.
- Provide identification and answer questions as required.
- Do not argue, resist, or engage in any behavior that would escalate the situation.

For the IMF: The HQ1 Networking Lounge is unattended and will have self-printing and working stations with power outlets. The HQ2 Networking Lounge (co-located with the Business Center) will be staffed from Monday, April 13 through Saturday, April 18, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and will have self-printing and working stations with US plug outlets.
Delegates are now able to book an IMF touchdown workstation booth or station for up to 4 hours in HQ1 or HQ2 by submitting a request to the Business Center at ebc@imf.org.
For the WBG: The World Bank will have two business lounge locations (in the MC Atrium and J building lobby) for informal meetings and temporary workspace. The Lounges will be available from Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily. On Saturday, April 18, both lounges will only be available from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The MC Business Lounge will be equipped with four shared-use computers with local printers, a copier, and international power strips to charge devices. Staff will be available to assist delegates.

By request, the IMF provides personalized arrangements to support a disability to attend IMF-sponsored events located in Washington, DC. To request accommodation please contact workplaceaccomm@imf.org. The team will respond to all emails within 48 hours of receipt.
If you are requesting a technical service, such as sign interpretation or personalized closed captioning, please provide a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice before the event so that we can determine the feasibility given technological capabilities and the venue where such meeting will take place. CLOSED CAPTIONING
Closed captioning services will be available for select events in the IMF HQ1 Atrium, Meeting Halls A & B, and Cedar Hall to ensure an inclusive and accessible experience for all attendees. TRANSPORTATION
During the 2026 Spring Meetings, there will be no dedicated transportation service between the airports and the Meetings Campus or Hotels.
Participants are advised to arrange for their own transportation.
Parking will not be available in Fund/Bank buildings for delegations. Please make alternative arrangements at the public garages or street parking.
Participants can use alternative transportation options across the city, including Capital Bikeshare and ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft.

It covers environmental, social, and economic issues, including resource utilization and conservation, choice of materials, supply chains, emissions reduction, accessibility, equity, and impact on the local economy. It also requires organizers to show how they consider sustainable development issues when choosing suppliers/vendors. Find out more here.
The IMF is increasingly embedding environmental sustainability considerations into decision making for its business operations. The IMF is putting greater emphasis on the Fund’s own carbon footprint and ways to mitigate its operational impact, while continuing to effectively serve the membership. Recent efforts have included removal of plastic in food operations, use of compostable supplies in the cafes, changes in building operations to lower energy usage, and implementation of a hybrid work model that significantly reduces employee commuting.
In line with the World Bank’s organizational mission and the Sustainable Development Goals, World Bank HQ has implemented a campus-wide waste disposal system to improve recycling and composting efforts and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. The World Bank encourages attendees to assist our sustainability efforts and respect our planet's resources by doing your part to reduce our overall environmental footprint. In the common areas on each floor of the buildings, you will find four color-coded collection bins with detailed signage indicating what materials are to be placed in each.
